𝐇𝐃𝐌𝐈 𝐇𝐃𝐌𝐈 is the audio-visual collaborative project of Isabella Maria Foster and Donovan Miller, described as the Proof of Life for two Oversimulated Humanoids living beyond their memes. 

 

We embrace these phantom limbs, phantom lymphs, before we can see that we are touched by them. Our screens guide our touch - this cyberphilic flesh.  

The screen touches me. 

Touched by my screen. 

 

The phone has its own logic of perception. I can make it look at me/take a photo of me, but it can only reflect a version that exists within its programmed potential.

 

When i ’take a selfie’ I instruct the phone to capture me, to hold me. I see myself being held by an entity that i hold. There is an intimate unity and a profound distance, echoing the abjection of human-human embrace.
